I received my Private Pilot License in 1988, Instrument Rating in 1989, and Commercial License in 1990 – but did not fly professionally until 2000! I started flying part time for a local freight company in Michigan, using twin Cessna’s and Caravans. I then started my own Part 135 charter company with a Piper Navajo and Seneca. I have been flying business jets under Parts 91, 91(k), and 135 since 2007, typed in the Citation CJ series, Phenom 300, Challenger 300/350, and the Boeing 737. I have served as Director of Training, Chief Pilot, and Director of Operations for a number of charter companies.
I have been a Part 135 company check airman since 2017 in piston aircraft including the Cirrus SR-20/22, Beech Baron, and Piper Chieftain. Most of my flight instruction experience is with advanced students, leading to commercial licenses, multi-engine certificates, jet type rating, and CFI certificates. Along the way, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, a Masters of Business Administration, and a Doctorate in Jurisprudence.
Currently, I instruct and check pilots in a Cirrus SR-22, and captain a Challenger 350 for a Part 135 charter operator. I also own a 1973 Beech Baron, which my wife and I use to visit our children and grandchildren around the country.
